How Could She Do It is a story of consequences. The author has written a different style of betrayal and dishonesty. The characters were believable. The author's introduction of revenge was not carried out and some themes in the story were repetitive, which caused an over kill to the storyline. However, I do recommend How Could She Do It to others.

How Could She Do It by Nataisha Hill centers around the main character Kayla, a young woman fed up with her abusive and cheating boyfriend. Kayla is bound and determind to make him feel just as miserable as she does. When she comes up with a plan to get back at him, the only person she is really hurting is herself. After careful thought, Kayla decides the best thing to do is to move far away and have a fresh start. She meets a man she thinks just may be her prince charming, yet he deceives her as well. With the back and forth relationship between her ex-boyfriend and her current boyfriend, it spells nothing but trouble.
How Could She Do It by Nataisha Hill was a typical story about a young-minded girl who instead of just walking away from a bad situation, she keeps getting herself in the same mess over and over again. The story was predictable and unrealistic in certain situations and a little too convenient in others. The main character Kayla constantly talks about getting revenge but never really falls through in doing so. She refers to the men in her life as being "psycho," but honestly, there is absolutely nothing within these pages that would warrant this reference. The author tended to throw in "big words" into a simple storyline, the timeline in the story was unclear, and the lack of editing made for a poor read.
A friend of mine told me that she read this novel in about three days. It wouldn't have been a surprise if it was someone else, but my friend has two kids, a husband, and a full-time job. I bought the kindle version of this novel and I read it in two and a half days. Every time I would try to finish a chapter, it left me with too much suspense.
I read one of the other reviews and I was thinking that maybe certain people can't identify with an author's story or characters if they haven't experienced or been related to someone who has experienced some if these situations. I can personally say my relatives, a few girlfriends, and I have either been betrayed, abused, and/or cheated on or all of the above. I have believed in men that I thought would change and I have done things in a relationship that were beneficial and convenient for me. The entire "Quincy" episode related to me as well as the "roommate from hell".
I think there were instances of revenge in the story, but maybe I was personally looking for houses to burn down, cars damaged, stolen items, medicines switched, or whatever else some women do for revenge. The characters were interesting, the storyline was relatable, and chapters left me in suspense. I would definitely recommend this novel.
